What's New in SmartPath Engage

Updated over a week ago

This update includes five improvements to Engage:

Automated Client Onboarding

  • Clients can now immediately start answering custom defined questions and uploading critical onboarding documents as soon as their eSignature process is complete.

  • Once enrolled in their selected package, they receive a guided flow to complete all required onboarding tasks including document uploads,
e-signatures, and status tracking from a single, branded onboarding dashboard.

What this means for your firm:

  • Shorten onboarding time by immediately and automatically allowing clients to begin your onboarding process as soon as they pick their engagement plan.

  • No more back-and-forth chasing clients for missing onboarding items.

  • Onboarding tasks are tracked in one place, visible to your whole team.

  • Clients get a clean, professional first impression when working with your firm.

How to use it:

✅ When a client is enrolled through a roadmap, their onboarding dashboard is automatically generated.

✅ You can monitor task completion status from the client record in Engage.

✅ You can see their answers and uploaded documents inside their client record.

Custom Document Templates

  • You can now upload and manage your own document templates directly within the SmartPath Engage Platform.

  • Custom templates can be assigned to specific packages or engagement types, giving you full control over the documents clients receive during onboarding.

  • You can Drag and Drop your signature fields inside your template, so clients can enroll in bulk.

What this means for your firm:

  • Standardize the documents sent to clients without manual preparation each time.

  • Use your own engagement letters, agreements, or intake forms alongside SmartPath Engage's document library.

  • Reduce setup time when onboarding new clients.

How to use it:

✅ Navigate to Setup → Document Templates to upload and manage your templates.

✅ Drag and Drop your signature fields (names, dates, eSignature lines, etc.)

✅ Once added, templates can be assigned when building or editing a package.

eSignature - Now live!

  • eSignature has been significantly enhanced and is now fully supported within Engage.

  • Document signing is reliable, faster, and ready for use across all client engagements.

What this means for your firm:

  • Clients can review and sign engagement documents digitally without leaving the onboarding flow.

  • Signed documents are stored and accessible from the client record.

  • No third-party signature tool required.

How to use it:

✅ eSignature is available when sending documents through the onboarding Dashboard.

✅ Assign a signable document to a package or engagement and clients will be prompted to sign as part of their onboarding steps.

Custom Post-Signature Redirects

  • After a client completes an eSignature, you can now choose where they land next.

  • Instead of defaulting to the standard SmartPath confirmation page, you can direct clients to a URL of your choice such as your firm's website, a scheduling page, or a custom thank-you page.

What this means for your firm:

  • Keep clients in your branded experience after signing (if you choose to not use the Onboarding Dashboard features)

  • Send them directly to the next steps in your custom workflow.

  • Guide clients to a clear next action after their eSignature is complete.

How to use it:

✅ Navigate to Setup → Magic Pricing Link Settings and enter your preferred redirect URL.

✅ Click “Update” to Save Your Changes.

This setting applies globally but can be updated at any time.

Apply Strategic Rates to All Packages

  • You can now set an hourly strategic rate in Setup and apply it across all of your packages at once.

  • When applied, Engage uses your hourly rate along with your estimated hours per service to calculate the cost of individual line items in your proposals.

  • This is a manual override of the default value-based pricing that Engage normally uses to determine service costs.

What this means for your firm:

  • Firms that prefer to price based on time can now do so systematically rather than adjusting each package manually.

  • Your hourly rate is entered once and applied consistently across all packages in a single action.

  • You can switch between value-based and hourly-based pricing at any time when customizing a Roadmap for any client.

How to use it:

✅ Navigate to Setup → Pricing Customization

✅ Scroll to the bottom of the page under Default → Your Price Points → Strategic Rate to enter your hourly rate.

✅ Once saved, use the apply-to-all action to update pricing calculations across your packages. Individual package estimates can still be adjusted manually after applying.
